WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NH35 AND THE 4R35?

Simple answer? Nothing other than a name. The branding on the oscillating weight (Rotor as some call it) is the only difference. For example, the 4R35 has the same specs however, it includes the Seiko Brand logo on the rotor. The NH35 virtually identical to the 4r35, does not carry the Seiko logo and its purpose is for 3rd party use. Other than that, they are the same movement.

“SII” stands for “Seiko Instruments Inc” and is in all technical purposes “Seiko” (Subsidiary of Seiko Holdings Corporation).

If you’re new to modding be sure to read what the difference is between the NH Seiko movements.

WHAT IS THE NH35?

The Seiko SII NH35 movement is the unbranded version of the Seiko 4R35. The Seiko NH35 is known for being a work horse and is the perfect movement to use in a build that will be passed down generation after generation. Most of Seiko’s older watches came with the very popular 7S26, which is the same base movement as the NH35 minus the hand winding, Hacking, and 3 jewel difference. The Date wheel, and the movement spacer on the 7S26 [black] and 4R35 (NH35) [gray] are fully interchangeable so don’t worry! This makes upgrading your old worn out 7S26 to a new NH35 very simple.

Hacking, hand winding, and the pure reliability of the NH35 will make this the perfect movement for your next modded Seiko, or even to build a watch from scratch! The SII NH35 fits all the cases selling on Watch-Modz. Our NH35 Movements pair well with our Lumed Day & Date Wheels which also fit 7S26!

Don’t hesitate any longer, make sure you buy your NH35 Automatic Movement from the most reliable supplier on the market!

Some NH35 Movements are produced by TMI, these are identical to SII. Do not be alarmed as this is another factory that produces Seiko 3rd Party NH35

NH35 Movement Accuracy

Accuracy is not always the same for every movement as it varies from each watch movement. Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII), which manufactures the SII NH35, states that the NH caliber is accurate to

-20 ~ +40 seconds per day (23º± 2ºC)

This accuracy is just a general guide and should be between these tolerances straight from the factory. However, our NH35 movements typically arrive around +/-10 seconds a day or less.

The accuracy of the NH35 Movement is the same as the Seiko branded 4R36.
