The New SKX007 Gold Fluted bezel is not a piece you want to overlook!
Material:
Stainless Steel 316L surgical grade
Design:
SKX007 Fluted fixed bezel non-rotating.
Fitment:
Standard flat Sapphires as well as the standard Seiko OEM flat hardlex
NOT suitable for a double domed sapphire
Press the bezel on using a crystal press as in some cases they can be tight, pressing on by hand is typically impossible.
Does not need a click spring
Finish: Polished Gold
APPEARENCE
The fluted bezel was first seen in 1926. However, it wasn’t the design you and I recognize today.
ORGIN
Rolex had the first waterproof wristwatch, and this was made possible thanks to the Oyster case structure. The fluted design sealed the case from the top as well as the bottom.
FUNCTION
In order to accomplish this a middle-case was used to which the bezel and caseback were screwed down against the top and bottom. In order to screw down the top of the case, a new bezel was made to grip a screw down tool, which would eventually become the fluted bezel we know today.
MODERN FLUTED BEZEL
The modern fluted bezel is no more than a beautiful design that has stuck around for decades and became the modern design you and I know around 1945.
